Split-screen between two windows
Click on the tab on the right of a window’s title bar to move it to another edge. Move your mouse to the left or right side of the window until you see its outline appear, and then release your button.
All your other open apps should now appear as thumbnail images on the opposite side of the screen, as seen in Figure.
Now that we have loaded the other window, let’s move it over to the side so you can see them both at once.
Tip: When you hover your cursor over the dividing window, the cursor will change to an arrow with a double-headed tail. You can now drag that part of the boundary around to resize your two virtual windows how you see fit.
Split screen between four windows
You can have as many moving parts and members as you would like working towards the achievement of a goal, so long as everyone obtains what they were looking for.
Move a window to an edge of the screen by dragging it by its title bar. When you let go, a double-headed arrow appears, showing where the window will move when you let go of the mouse button.
Drag the next window to another corner in the same manner as the previous window. Release the mouse button once more when you are satisfied with your arrangement.
Pinning top applications is a handy way to keep access to specific windows at your fingertips. For example, you could pin your browser in the top right-hand corner of your screen so that when you need it, it’s a click away instead of buried behind a multitude of other windows on your desktop.
To pin an application press, hold down the Alt button and drag with the left mouse button to where you want the program pinned.
You can then release the alt key and either drag another window into place or just close the window off if you don’t require it.
You can unsnap a window at any moment by dragging it away from the edge or corner with its title bar as a guideline.
Split screen keyboard shortcuts
If you frequently split windows, you can save time by using keyboard shortcuts to do it more quickly. For example, pressing Control + W will bring up the mini menu and half of your work will be done!
