But the question is How To Use Graphic Tablet? If you are finding the answer to this question then you are in the right place. In this article, I am going to guide you about graphic tablet usage.
A graphics tablet is a flat surface on which you draw with a pen-like device. You can also connect the tablet by plugging it into a computer via a USB port. A stylus is similarly attached to the tablet. When a user draws a line with the stylus, the drawing does not show up on the tablet.
There is a short but concise guide for you in steps. I have divided this guide into steps for easy understanding.
Step #01 (Choose Suitable Graphic Tablet)
First of all, you need t to choose the right tablet for you. To get the best drawing tablet, you can get help from the internet. There are lots of websites that are reviewing different tablets on the basis of Price, Screen size, Software support, pressure sensitivity, and other specifications. So, first of all, you need to spend a lot of time in research to get the best suitable drawing tablet for you. I have also reviewed many tablets in my articles. for example, I have reviewed Best Drawing Tablet Under $100 2021. In this article, you can get all tablet’s prices under $100. So, you can check it out and find the best suitable tablet for you.
Step #02 (Check Connectivity)
Check tablet connectivity with the computer. How your tablet interact with the computer? Either tablet connects with the computer through a USB cable or wirelessly. USB and wireless connection are most common.
Step #03 (Check Software)
Check your tablet software. Most of the tablets have software that allows you to draw and create with your tablet. For many of them, you don’t even have to have a tablet to use. PD Particles is one software that is both fun and easy to use with a tablet.
Step #04 (Practice Using Pen)
Start practicing using a pen and draw something on a tablet. The other name of Pen is a stylus, it is attached to a tablet and it allows you to draw on a tablet.
Step #05 (Check the pressure of Stylus on the tablet)
Check the pressure of the stylus/pen on a tablet. It is very necessary to check because sometimes you can put more pressure on the tablet during drawing. So, it is good for you, if you can check the maximum pressure limit earlier.
There are some od things that you might face during drawing. So, I am going to discuss a few of them.
Match your hand movements with the screen movements
When you are drawing on a tablet and getting results on Screen. The basic discomfort that you can face is might be the size ratio of tablet and screen.
For example, if you use a small drawing tablet for a large monitor, moving the pen just a little bit will move the mouse largely on the screen.
Conversely, if you use a large drawing tablet for a small monitor, you will need to move the pen a great distance to move the cursor on the screen.
One big reason for discomfort is this mismatch between the distance moved by the hand and the distance moved on the screen.
To fix this, you need to adjust your drawing environment.
For artists that draw from the wrist
The average pen stroke distance when drawing using the wrist is around ten centimeters.
As a result, the drawing tablet also doesn’t need to be too large. We place this small tablet in front of the monitor.
By pushing the monitor slightly back, the screen will look smaller, lessening the discomfort from the mismatch of hand and cursor.
For artists that draw from the elbow
Large strokes require you to use your entire arm to draw. Such lines could become 30cm in size, but buying a huge commercial-grade tablet isn’t realistic. Instead, just find a large drawing tablet.
Pen strokes on a large tablet should match well with the cursor movement on a 15-inch monitor.
If your monitor is larger than 15 inches, try pushing it back a little to make it look smaller.
Screen, tablet, and artist alignment
If you still face uncomfortable then you need to follow this method. Surely, this will help you a lot. Set your tablet in front of the screen and sit in front of the tablet. Remember, Your screen, tablet and you. all are horizontally aligned.
That’s all from my side. Hope this guide helps you in using and drawing on the tablet.
